Several stimuli, such as inflammation and oxidative stress can mobilize these cells from the bone marrow into the circulating blood and stem cells repair tissue, organ and vascular injuries. Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is a systemic inflammatory disease with severe cardiovascular consequences.
