Abstract
Kinesiotaping technique was designed by Dr.Kenzo Kase in 1970's to counteract the unwanted effects of standard taping techniques such as limitation of joint motions and functional activities. This technique facilitates circulation and motion due to elevation of skin and subcutaneous interstitial tissues, decreases inflammation and pain, increases performance, enhances neuromuscular reeducation, prevents injury and stimulates recovery. Kinesiotaping technigue has a wide range of indications. Today, in accordance with the original application techniques, different applications and indications are being innovated and research is accumulating. The aim of the present review is to summarize the current literature about kinesiotaping applications in musculoskeletal conditions and various fields such as sports rehabilitation, pediatric patients, neurologic disorders, vascular problems, lymphedema and its uses other than musculoskeletal problems.
