Item Comment On Dermoscopic Features of Seborrheic Keratoses Following Cryotherapy(Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi, 2013-10) Aydıngöz, İkbal Esen; Mansur, Ayşe TülinABSTRACT Seborrheic keratosis (SK) is the most common benign tumor in older indi viduals. Freezing with liquid nitrogen has been widely used as a method of treatment. In one of our patients treated with cryotherapy, follow-up der moscopical image of the lesion raised a concern for regressing malignant lesion in the post treatment period. Information on the dermoscopy of SK treated with cryotherapy was not available. Consequently, we gathered and retrospectively analysed the pictures taken during healing periods of four SK without choosing a specific type. Besides dermoscopic structures specific for SK, coarse and fine gray granules arranged in a linear or annular pattern were also noted. These features have been reported in various malignant tumors before. Most of the time, clinical diagnosis of SK is not an issue; although rarely though rare malignant transformation of SK has been re ported. Furthermore, SK may be found with another malignant condition as a collision tumor. Consequently, we think all the dermoscopic features presented are compatible with cryotherapy induced lichenoid keratosis like lesions. As a conclusion, it is important to know and document the dermo scopic findings that occur in the post-cryotherapy healing period to prevent an impression of misdiagnosis or inadequeate therapy.Item Hypersensitivity to Standard Contact Allergens in Patients With Cutaneous Lichen Planus(Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi, 2014-01-01) Aydıngöz, İkbal Esen; Mansur, Ayşe TülinABSTRACT Aim: Lichen planus is a lymphocytic inflammatory disorder of unknown origin mediated by cellular immunity. The reports documenting contact hypersensitivity to certain antigens are increasing in number mainly in oral but also in cutaneous lichen planus as well. However, there are only a few studies questioning whether there is any alteration in contact hyper sensitivity response in this patient group due to T-cell mediated changes. Methods: The purpose of this study is to find out the prevalence of contact hypersensitivity to standard contact allergens in cutaneous lichen planus patients. In the present study 43 cutaneous lichen planus patients and 33 controls were patch tested by T.R.U.E test methodology. Resulst: A positive patch test reaction was found in 11.6% of the lichen planus patients while the control group showed a percentage of 30.3%. Statistically, the difference between the two groups was not significant (Fischer test p=0.07). Conclusions: This is the first study examining into the standard patch test positivity in cutaneous lichen planus patients the results showed no dif ference from the control.Item Recurrent Photosensitive Eruption Associated With Gastrointestinal and Neurological Disturbances Gastrointestinal ve Nörolojik Bozukluklara Eşlik Eden Tekrarlayıcı Fotosensitif Döküntü(Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi, 2013-04-04) Mansur, Ayşe Tülin; Aydıngöz, İkbal Esen
