    Patients with advanced prostate cancer (APC) may be at greater risk for severe illness, hospitalisation, or death from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) due to male gender, older age, potential immunosuppressive treatments, or comorbidities. Thus, the optimal management of APC patients during the COVID-19 pandemic is complex. In October 2021, during the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) 2021, the 73 voting members of the panel members discussed and voted on 13 questions on this topic that could help clinicians make treatment choices during the pandemic. There was a consensus for full COVID-19 vaccination and booster injection in APC patients. Furthermore, the voting results indicate that the expert's treatment recommendations are influenced by the vaccination status: the COVID-19 pandemic altered management of APC patients for 70\% of the panellists before the vaccination was available but only for 25\% of panellists for fully vaccinated patients. Most experts (71\%) were less likely to use docetaxel and abiraterone in unvaccinated patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. For fully vaccinated patients with high-risk localised prostate cancer, there was a consensus (77\%) to follow the usual treatment schedule, whereas in unvaccinated patients, 55\% of the panel members voted for deferring radiation therapy. Finally, there was a strong consensus for the use of telemedicine for monitoring APC patients. Patient summary: In the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference 2021, the panellists reached a consensus regarding the recommendation of the COVID-19 vaccine in prostate cancer patients and use of telemedicine for monitoring these patients.     It has been more than 3 months now since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Turkey. Globally, the number of confirmed cases and deaths reached 9,653,048 and 491,128 respectively, as reported by 216 countries by June 27, 2020. Turkey had 1,396 new cases, 194,511 total cases, and 5,065 deaths by the same date. From the first case until today, the Turkish Thoracic Society (TTS) has been very proactive in educating doctors, increasing public awareness, undertaking academic studies, and assisting with public health policies. In the present report, social, academic, and management perspectives of the pandemic are presented under appropriate subtitles. During this critical public health crisis, TTS has once again demonstrated its readiness and constructive stance by supporting public health, healthcare workers, and the environment. This review summarizes the perspective of TTS on each aspect of the COVID-19 pandemic and casts light on its contributions.

    Management of Patients with Urological Cancers in Turkey during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Recommendations of Uro-oncology Association

    Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) has been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The number of cases has increased over time in correlation with the increasing number of testing worldwide. In order to use the available resources for COVID-19 treatment, urological practice has been limited only to emergency procedures and certain uro-oncological surgeries. In this report, we aim to share our recommendations for the daily uro-oncology practice in light of local circumstances in Turkey.

    The role of community pharmacists during the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S.

    Coronavirus pandemic started to spread in the U.S.A. with a few cases from February 2020, causing a national health crisis with the number of cases exceeding 30 million in June 2021. To improve the situation during the crisis, new regulations regarding community pharmacies were made and innovative solutions were introduced to protect public health. Community pharmacists, who are the most accessible healthcare professionals, have assumed new roles and responsibilities including COVID-19 testing and vaccination. The scale and way pharmacists' potential are used have played an important role in determining the fate of the COVID pandemic in the U.S.A. The purpose of this article is to address the expanding job descriptions and sacrifices of community pharmacists in the COVID-19 era from a holistic perspective.
